Lit Fix is a quarterly reading and music series in Seattle. Founder Mia Lipman Irwin migrated north from San Francisco, where you can stop into dive bars most every night and catch authors onstage with local bands. She's very happy to have found just as much writer-musician symbiosis in her new hometown. This city loves books, bands, and microbrews—bar readings with a live soundtrack were inevitable. Lit Fix is proud to be part of our creative community, and to give back to it: proceeds from all events are donated to local nonprofits that promote literacy. We're grateful to be celebrating our sixth anniversary in 2019!

About the series

About the founder

Mia Lipman Irwin is the director of content at the University of Washington and the principal editor at Dots & Dashes. She cofounded Canteen literary magazine and has slung copy for Avalon Travel Publishing, San Francisco magazine, Apple, Girl Friday, and oodles of other places. (She's also a veteran of several bands you've never heard of.) Lit Fix is Mia's way of exploring her adopted city and sparking a conversation between writers, musicians, and everyone who likes to hum along.
